“Philip Wilder is one of the most amazing ministers I’ve met. While at our conferences both in Uganda and Rwanda through his testimonies and sharing of God’s word, his contagious passion for evangelism and discipleship brought amazing fruit in our ministry. We were challenged to continually disciple others and a week after, I succeeded in starting discipleship groups in our church which are following the model he and his team taught us. His ministry will help your ministry grow spiritually and numerically!”
— Pr. Kato Thomas Lead pastor: Generation Impact Church (Ministries)
“I’ve had the privilege of knowing and walking alongside Philip Wilder in ministry for several years. God has given him a passion and ability to inspire others in reaching the nations for Christ. He spoke at our student retreat about missions with such motivation, credibility, creativity, and clarity. I appreciate his personal life and experience in sharing the Gospel and his desire to mobilize others to do the same.”
— Rachael Woodie Women’s Campus Director with Master Plan Ministries
Philip Wilder started his journey of missions and writing at a young age. Before he could even write, he drew picture books and narrated to his mom what he’d like her to write on each page. Philip finished his first book at the age of sixteen and hasn’t stopped writing since. He has now written one nonfiction book and six fiction novels, two of which are semi-finalists in the ACFW 2020 Genesis contest.
As a kid, he dreamed of being a missionary. At the age of thirteen, Philip’s ministry life began as he worked with Child Evangelism Fellowship leading and teaching 5-day clubs throughout the summer. This is when he caught the vision of evangelizing. By his third summer, he led his own team of teen summer missionaries. In his fourth summer with CEF, he came on full-time seasonal staff. During college, Philip volunteered with several campus ministries, where he led up evangelism teams and hosted Bible studies. During this time he shared his faith wildly with classmates, coworkers, random grocery shoppers/cashiers, and fellow bus patrons. Immediately after graduating from Colorado University in Denver with a degree in Teaching, he joined staff with Cru and shipped off to serve in a sensitive country in the Middle East for two years.
After two years, he saw the intense need of severely unreached people groups around the world and knew God was calling him to help wake up the American Church to see this great need. Philip came back to the US and interned with Master Plan Ministries for a year, before moving to Albuquerque, NM to join the Great Commission Alliance. With the GCA, Philip travels all around the world training and equipping churches in evangelism and discipleship. He is also developing fiction and nonfiction books to reach young men and share with them the desperate need of the lost and the amazing adventure God desires to lead them on.
Philip is no stranger to adventure. From backpacking to snowboarding to wilderness survival and even traveling the world and skydiving, Philip’s done it all. The first time he left the US in 2015, he moved to the Middle East for two years. Since then, he’s traveled to 28 countries. He understands what it means to take big risks for the sake of following God and sharing the Gospel. He desires to help other guys step out past their fear to find their own God-given calling.
To date, Philip has trained congregations in Mexico, Colorado, New Mexico, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Johannesburg (South Africa), Durban (South Africa), Lesotho, Burundi, Tanzania, Ghana, multiple locations in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
Philip Wilder is available to speak at groups of all ages including but not limited to church congregations, youth groups, conferences, schools, and colleges. In his evangelism/discipleship trainings, he draws upon his many years of ministry experience in public, work, and college settings as well as his two years of ministry in the Middle East to engage the audience and teach evangelism and discipleship in a simple and applicable way so even new-believers will feel prepared and excited to engage in the great commission with the people God brings into their lives.
He enjoys giving motivational and inspirational talks as well. In these presentations, Philip Wilder shares his testimony and journey toward full-time ministry in the Middle East and explains why discipleship and evangelism are so important. He then challenges the audience to set aside the things of this world and find true purpose and joy by using the gifts and talents God has given them to make his name known.
Philip Wilder is willing to do out-of-state trainings and speaking engagements. He does not charge for any trainings or speaking engagements, but he requests that transportation costs be covered.
Philip Wilder is willing to customize any of the sessions below based upon the needs and ages of the audience. Depending on time available, trainings and speaking topics can be combined to fit the needs of needs of the attendees. Philip Wilder strongly suggests pairing the evangelism and discipleship training into either one long day training or two half day trainings.
Trainings
Every-Day Evangelism
Having traveled internationally with Tom Elie the creator of the One-Minute Witness, Philip Wilder is certified in training others in this resource. The One-Minute Witness is a simple and quick tool to share your testimony in any setting with close friends, acquaintances, and strangers, but this is just the building blocks. In this training, Philip Wilder uses the Bible and personal stories to share the heart behind evangelism, the true state of the lost, how to share the One-Minute Witness, and how to walk someone through asking Christ to forgive their sins. All of this culminates with an application time for attendees to go out and put this training to use followed by a time of praising God through sharing stories of what God did during the application.
Reaching the World Through Discipleship
In this training, Philip Wilder shares how his own life was transformed through discipleship. Passive believers become multiplying disciples through strong, bible-based discipleship. In this training, Philip Wilder uses a resource called Following Jesus: Discipleship Essentials to make discipleship simple, understandable, and applicable so even the newest believers can begin to disciple others. He shares the biblical call for believers to disciple, how to know who to disciple, important characteristics of quality discipleship, how to start discipling someone, what a healthy discipleship appointment looks like, and how discipleship is the critical vehicle reaching the world with the Gospel. The training ends with an application time for attendees to call and set up discipleship appointments with other Christians that the Holy Spirit has put on their hearts.
Ministering to Muslims
With two years of experience ministering to Muslims in the Middle East, Philip Wilder shares his passion to reach this spiritually-hungry people group. The nations are coming to our doorstep; now has never been a better time to reach Muslims. In this training, Philip Wilder shares the basics of Islam, how it agrees and disagrees with the Bible, what to say and what not to say, where to find Muslims in your community, how to understand a Muslim’s mindset and culture, how to step out of a western mindset, and key strategies to use in reaching out to Muslims. Philip Wilder concludes this training with an application time for attendees to create a battle-plan on how they will reach out to Muslims in their community.
